All of our handmade jewellery can be personalised to your preferences using your chosen Swarovski crystal colours. But there are other items to consider when buying an item of personalised jewellery, so we have included some of our tips here.

Bracelets are fabulous accessories, and make great gifts. As a fun way of expressing your personality, personalised bracelets are a cheap and cheerful way to update any outfit.

Whether you are looking for a bracelet as a gift, a name bangle to celebrate a loved one, or simply a new bracelet to update an outfit, read on for our tips on how to buy the perfect bracelets.

Sizes

The perfect bracelet or bangle should fit loosely so it has some movement, but should not be loose enough to slide off the hand.

Standard bracelet sizes for women range from 6.5inches (16.5cm) to 7.5inches (19cm). The average size is 7 inches (17.7cm), so if you are buying the bracelet as a gift and are unsure, this is a good size to opt for.

If you have a bracelet already that you like the length of, measure that, and let me know the length – I will try to match it as closely as possible.

Sizes on our crystal and pearl bracelets are approximate – we will aim to match the size you have requested. However, this is dictated somewhat by the design you have selected. – I can’t cut a bead in half!

There may be slight variations in the length you requested, and the length you receive. I'm confident that you’ll never notice as 99% of our bracelets fit perfectly first time. However, if the bracelet is the wrong size due to our error in design, you may return it for a free re-make.  If you are ordering the bracelet as a gift, you estimated the size and it doesn’t fit the recipient, we are happy to remake it for you, subject to a £2.50 fee and the cost of return postage.

Extension chains

I offer optional sterling silver extension chains on lots of my personalised bracelet designs. These are a great way to ensure the bracelet fits perfectly, as the wearer can adjust the bracelet length slightly to suit their preferences. If you are opting for an extension chain, order a slightly smaller bracelet than the average, so it will fit any size from 6.5inches to 9inches, making it a safe bet as a gift.

Components

Bracelets take a fair amount of bashing – due to constant hand movement. For this reason, all of our bracelets are made using flexible coated stainless steel, and are finished with your chosen clasp.

Toggle clasps are an attractive way to finish your crystal or pearl bracelet. They make a statement out of a functional closing, and are a great place to attach charms for added effect.

Lobster clasps provide added security – they won’t accidentally come undone and so are perfect for heavier or high-value bracelets. I use lobster clasps as standard on several of my personalised bracelets, but am happy replace a toggle clasp for a lobster finish on any design – just ask in the comments box during checkout and I will be happy to oblige.

Necklaces and pendants are a great way to make a personal statement. Whether you are looking for a name necklace, crystal pendant or beaded design, all of our handmade necklaces can be finished in your choice of sterling silver or silver plated chain. Each pendant and necklace can be personalised to your preferences, and comes gift-boxed as standard. 

Size guide

Necklace size is a personal choice, since some people prefer a shorter chain, regardless of the pendant style. All of our pendant and necklace designs can be personalised to your chosen length, and would look great in any size.

Guessing the perfect size for a necklace can be tricky if you are giving it as a gift. The most popular choices are 16inches (40.6cm) and 18inches(45.7cm) – you probably can’t go wrong if you select one of these sizes!

Crystal pendants and necklaces

Our range of Swarovski crystal necklaces includes fun crystal pendants, crystal choker designs, and bridal necklaces. Each necklace design can be personalised using your chosen Swarovski crystal colours, and is available in your choice of sterling silver of silver plated chain to suit your budget.

Pearl necklaces

Whether you opt for freshwater pearls or Swarovski crystal faux pearls, these will always be a design classic. Particularly popular is our Patience multi-strand pearl necklace in classic traditional cream pearls. However, if you are looking for a modern twist, this pearl necklace can be personalised using alternative pearl colours – such as pale rose, green or blue for a vibrant look.

We also have a range of pearl choker necklaces, which make great bridal jewellery choices.

Chain styles 

Since all of our necklaces and pendants are handmade, and personalised to your preferences, you are able to choose your chain type from our range of styles.

The choices can be overwhelming – there are lots of chains to choose from! I generally offer three main chain types - box, ball and snake. But if you'd like a different style, please don't hesiate to ask - and I will source the perfect design just for you!  

Finishing

I use sterling silver lobster clasps to finish my necklaces, unless otherwise stated in the description. These are a secure fitting, meaning your necklace won’t accidentally be lost or mislaid. I am happy to consider using an alternative clasp, such as a toggle bar or magnetic clasp if preferred – just contact me for a personalised quotation. Since each necklace and pendant is handmade, we can usually accommodate your requirements.

Protect your necklaces

Keep your necklace in perfect condition by storing it in the gift-box provided when it is not being worn.

Our silver necklaces are polished using anti-tarnish polish prior to shipping. This should keep them looking sparkling for several years. However, tarnish is a natural occurrence in silver jewellery – there is no true avoidance technique, so they may require a little bit of spit and polish in the future to keep your necklace looking pristine. There are several great methods for cleaning silver necklaces – including rubbing with lemon juice and traditional silver polish. Whatever you do, please don't use toothpaste. Although I know a lot of forums recommend it - you're likely to scratch your delicate silver, and once damaged its hard to repair!
